Overview:
Lake Norman Electric is a family-owned Electrical Contractor serving the Lake Norman, Lake Hickory, and Lake Wylie Communities. We are currently seeking an experienced Equipment Operator to join our team. As an Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for operating a variety of equipment including a Trencher, Dingo machine with attachments, Gas Powered Tamper, Mini-Excavator and more. This position is full-time, working approximately 40 hours a week. Scheduled days are Monday - Friday (occasionally a Saturday and overtime). This position will be provided with and will be responsible for a company truck and its contents.
Duties:
- Operate equipment such as Trencher, Dingo machine with attachments, Gas
Powered Tamper, Mini-Excavator and more to trench, tamp and backfill jobs
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on equipment
- Installation of materials in trenches (conduit, data lines, PEX, etc.)
- Pulling string lines through conduit
- Saw cutting asphalt and concrete (driveways, sidewalks, parking lots)
- Identifying and marking underground items damaged during trenching
- Will be responsible for a company truck and its contents
- Assist other crews on projects during down time
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
- Complete assigned tasks efficiently and accurately
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time
Qualifications:
- Previous experience operating equipment is required (3 Years)
- Proficient in the operation of a Trencher, Dingo machine with attachments, Gas Powered Tamper, Mini-Excavator
- Experience driving a truck and trailer
- Familiar with 811 and the marking of underground utilities
- Must be able to swim
- Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Valid North Carolina driver's license with a clean driving record
