What are the responsibilities and job description for the Boat Detailer position at Lake Norman Marina?
Position Title: Boat Detailer. New and Used Boats
Department: Service/Sales Department
Reports To: Service Manager/Sales Manager
Basic Function: Is responsible for cleaning, detailing, and applying Extreme Guard in a way that meets the demands and expectations of our customers and our team.
Requirements:
· Always be professional in appearance, positive in attitude, humble, and approachable.
· Willing to take constructive criticism when it is done professionally and done to make you a better detailer and better team member.
· Be team oriented, self-motivated, and process driven.
· Able to work 40-50 hours per week, which can include working days past 5:00pm and or working Saturdays as needed.
· Able to walk, stand, and work on your feet 8 to 10 hours per day.
· Able to safely, responsibly, and competently operate equipment related to the Detail Department when directed.
· Have an eye and instinct for what a perfect detail should look like.
Major Duties:
· Knowledge/experience in cutting, buffing, polishing, and detailing marine services.
· Able to review work schedule, have jobs completed in the correct order, and determine the scope of the job. When scope is greater, obtain direction from management.
· Always be aware of the need to communicate with management in any and all situations when needed.
· Inspect boats for cleanliness and damage.
· Mix cleaning solutions, abrasive compositions, or other compounds, according to formulas.
· Clean and polish new, used, and customer boats.
· Chemically clean pontoon tubes.
· Touching up and painting scratch lower unit skegs.
· Meet production and customer satisfaction requirements.
· Bottom and exterior washing of boats as necessary.
· Maintain all clean-up areas daily.
· Monitor and maintain detail shop supply inventory.
· Ensure all equipment, supplies, and tools are in good working condition at all time.
· Report any fading gelcoat, cracks, holes or other defects to manager.
· Attend training as needed.
· Properly dispose and store hazard chemicals.
· Follow all safety precautions and procedures at all times.
· Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
· Request boat movement and assist as needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
