We are seeking a friendly, organized, and detail-oriented Patient Coordinator/Checkout Associate to join our team at Lake Oconee Eye Care. As a patient coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring a smooth and efficient patient checkout experience. This includes handling patient transactions, verifying insurance details, scheduling follow-up appointments, and providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and assist with finalizing their visit to the office.
- Process payments, including insurance verification, co-pays, and out-of-pocket charges.
- Schedule follow-up appointments and assist with future appointment booking.
- Verify patient insurance coverage and billing information.
- Ensure that patient information is accurately entered into the system.
- Answer patient inquiries related to billing, insurance, and payment procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized desk area.
- Assist in patient education on payment policies, product offerings, and office procedures.
- Be a reliable on time employee
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a customer service or retail position (experience in healthcare or optometry is a plus).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Proficient in basic computer applications (experience with electronic medical records is a plus).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks at once.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
