Lake of Isles, a 36-hole Rees Jones-designed golf club located in North Stonington, Connecticut, opened in May 2005. Owned by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation and located across the street from Foxwoods Resort Casino, the two courses wind their way through 900 acres of wooded Connecticut countryside and around a 90-acre lake. Managed by Kemper Sports, known for their outstanding upscale golf course management, development and marketing, Lake of Isles offers the ultimate golf experience. In addition to superior service and impeccable course conditions, amenities include a 50,000 sq. ft. clubhouse, a state-of-the-art indoor and outdoor practice facility.
Position Summary:
Lake of Isles is currently seeking a motivated and reliable individual for the Part Time Concierge/Receptionist position. A successful candidate would be expected to act as an ambassador to guests by welcoming them and providing special assistance and information about Lake of Isles and Foxwoods attractions to customers and patrons. Assists with selling golf shop merchandise to customers, handling cash and credit transactions, answering phones, interacting with patrons, and providing information and handling request and complaints with a positive attitude and in a friendly, professional manner. Assists with inventory control, maintains the cleanliness of the golf shop and ensures the merchandise displays are properly stocked and organized.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet customers immediately with a friendly and sincere welcome.
- Assist with processing requests for Stay & Play packages.
- Use a clear, understandable speaking voice, exercise judgment, respond to inquiries with accurate information regarding hours of outlet operation, directions to local attractions, or meeting rooms, car rentals and airline shuttle service, etc. according to individual needs.
- When necessary, field guest complaints, conduction thorough research to develop the most effective solutions and negotiate results.
- Must have intimate knowledge of, and adhere to, TrueService brand standards/steps of service as outlined and directed by leadership.
- Must follow all opening and closing checklist assigned to job code by leadership.
- All employees are expected to be respectful and courteous to staff and guests at all times. Any hostile or confrontational demeanor, speech, or actions are strictly prohibited.
Qualifications:
- High School required.
- Demonstrated quality written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems; efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal supervision.
- Positive attitude, professional manner and appearance in all situations.
- Perform mathematical calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
- Understanding computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
- Established leadership skills.
- Ability to show reputation of quality and most importantly attention to detail.
- Willingness to work weekends and Holidays as demanded by the golf business cycle/season.
- Candidates must have a professional appearance and must be able to communicate effectively with our golfers
