Lake of the Pines Homeowners Association (LOP) is accepting applications for the position of Cashier. Must be 18 years of age or older due to California alcohol serving requirements. This position is at our Sports Lounge Restaurant, which is open daily from 11-8pm Sunday-Thursday and 11-9pm Friday-Saturday. Must have open availability for Cashier shifts.
Lake of the Pines is a 2,000-home gated private community located in the foothills of Northern California between the towns of Auburn and Grass Valley. Among its numerous amenities, the community boasts of a 230-acre private lake and a 19-hole golf course as two of its prime amenities. This is a part time hourly position with a salary range of $16.50 - $18.57 per hour. Benefits include sick leave after initial eligibility requirements are met as well as facility use privileges including swimming pool, beaches, parks, tennis and discounted meals. Pre-employment background search (if applicable) required following conditional offer of employment.
Required Duties and Responsibilities:
- Welcome and interact with all guests at the Sports Lounge restaurant.
- Greet guests with warm smile and pleasant demeanor and take orders, enter into POS system correctly and verify order by repeating back to guest. Suggest additional items as appropriate.
- Receive and process payments following cash and credit card handling guidelines.
- Maintain constant interaction with guests including answering questions, providing directions and event information, and other services to help create a GREAT dining experience.
- Answer phones with polite and professional attitude and fulfill take out orders and provide answers to questions.
- May assemble orders and present to guests according to recipe guidelines.
- Serve food to guests and remove dirty dishes when patrons are finished eating.
- Ensure food presentation is fresh and up to quality standards. Alert kitchen staff if not the case.
- Knowledge and understanding of safety and sanitation guidelines. Alert kitchen staff if food is not to this standard.
- Has good judgment of food quality and production, understands the impact of spoilage. Alerts management if quality is substandard or spoilage has occurred.
- Replenishes food and other serving items as necessary.
- Between guests’ seating, promptly clean tabletops and chairs. Check floor and clean as required.
- Perform general cleaning duties within the kitchen, cashier station, soda station, dining room and bathroom. Restock when needed, ensuring supplies are always ready to avoid delay in customer service.
- Inspect assigned restroom every 30 minutes and clean/pick up as needed.
- May require equipment operation, including working near equipment that generates heat.
- Perform duties in a professional and courteous manner.
- Respond appropriately to guest requests.
- Maintain courteous, pleasant and hospitable attitude and thank guests as they are leaving.
- Attend all scheduled employee meetings and bring suggestions for improvement.
- Other restaurant tasks as required by management.
Qualifications
Qualifications Requirements:
- Six months related experience or training.
- Must be 18 years of age or older due to California alcohol serving requirements.

- Maintains current Food Handlers Certificate.
- Must have flexible schedule and be able to work daytime, nights, weekends and holidays and special events.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively work independently or as part of a team. Make independent decisions to fulfill duties of this customer service-oriented position. Supportive and helpful to other team members.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
- Willing to follow instructions and take directions well from management.
- Ability to effectively communicate and present information in small group situations to customers, vendors and other employees.
- Basic mathematical skills including the ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide. Demonstrated cash handling capabilities and be able to count back proper change.
- Demonstrated hospitality skills with desire to serve others. Maintain enthusiasm and helpful manner always.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining speed, accuracy and efficiency. Ability to work well under pressure and maintain professional manner.
- Demonstrated ability to own and resolve guest complaints. Seek guidance and help from kitchen management when needed.
- Regularly required to complete work with deadlines. Expected to deal with frequent interruptions, maintain concentration and recall details.
- Frequently lifts 25 pounds.
