What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cash Operations Cashier position at Lake of the Torches Casino?
SUMMARY: The primary responsibility of this position is to perform cashier activities related to guest and associate requests for money exchanges.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Maintains all money handling procedures.
2. Is responsible for the accurate balancing of the cage at the beginning and end of assigned shift.
3. Manages paper money and rolled coin amounts and replenishes the cage through buy/sells.
4. Provides accurate money exchanges for guests and redeems coin, gaming chips, TITO tickets, kiosk coupons and gift certificates, occasional traveler’s checks, money grams and money orders.
5. Assists guests with questions and information requests to ensure excellent guest satisfaction.
6. Provides complete documentation related to money, cheques, ticket in/ticket out transactions, buy/sells and kiosk coupons, as well as check cashing and cash advance documentation, to support all money transactions.
7. Notifies supervisor, Assistant Cash Operations Manager or Cash Operations Manager of situations that may affect guests, associates, or the Lake of the Torches Resort Casino.
8. May be asked to cross-train to perform duties of a banker.
9. Performs other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Receives direction from the Cash Operations Supervisor or Step-up Banker assigned to main bank, Assistant Cash Operations Manager, or Cash Operations Manager on a daily basis.
POSITION RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal: Frequent contact with slots, security, surveillance and finance departments
External: Continual contact with guests or visitors.
EDUCATION: A High School education or equivalent is required.
EXPERIENCE: A minimum of six months experience in money handling and customer service is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must possess excellent interpersonal, communication, customer service, math and cash handling skills. Basic familiarity with PC’s and related software is preferred. Must be able to manage and maintain confidential and sensitive information with diplomacy and tact. Must maintain a professional demeanor in stressful situations as necessary.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
1. Work Conditions: The majority of position responsibilities are performed on the gaming floor and within an enclosed environment with exposure to differentials in temperature.
2. Exposure to Hazards: May be exposed to situations where spills, wet floors or guest behaviors may create undesirable conditions. Exposure to secondhand smoke.
3. Physical Requirements: Must be able to walk, sit, stand, or bend for extended periods of time. Occasional heavy lifting may be required.
LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to be licensed by the Lac du Flambeau Tribal Gaming Commission.
