General Store Clerk

Summary:

As a General Store clerk, you are doing more than selling products…you are the face of LOW to our customers and guests. Your most important job is to provide outstanding customer service. This position is seasonal, full-time, working 40 hours per week including weekends and holidays.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Greet customers in a friendly, welcoming way

· Demonstrate product knowledge when assisting customers

· Answers telephones, assists callers, and/or transfers calls to appropriate departments

· Answer LOW based questions, merchandising bulletins, and other Company approved information.

· Sell merchandise and interact with customers according to LOW standards.

· Receive, check, and shelve merchandise

· Keep store clean and uncluttered by sweeping and dusting daily and picking up any items misplaced and putting them where they go

· Complete customer transactions using POS register system.

· Addresses and resolves customer issues and concerns

· Perform register store open/close functions and cashier’s bank report envelopes.

· Basic math skills to count, add, and subtract.

· Strong interpersonal skills and ethical behavior to manage the company's assets, excellent customer service skills.

· Maintains and uses LOW tools in a safe and appropriate manner.

· Pulls expired or out of date items from the shelves.

Typical Physical/Mental Demands:
Medium to heavy physical capabilities required, stand for up to 8 hours, carry and lift

up to 40 pounds frequently, climb and balance on ladders, bend at the waist, kneel and squat on the ground, reach above the shoulder frequently, pushing or pulling up to 100 lbs occasionally; work in hot and cold temperatures. Must be able to work well independently, and with other co-workers and guests of LOW. Must be able to prioritize work demands and organize time efficiently.
