Job Description
Job Title: Housekeeper
Department: Inn
Reports To: Housekeeping Supervisor
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Summary: Cleans guestrooms and common areas and does laundry by performing the following duties.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Cleans guestrooms, including changing sheets on beds, washing linens when necessary, cleaning bathrooms, restocking supplies, dusting, and vacuuming. *
2. Applies knowledge of company services/products to efficiently process customer inquiries and complaints in a diplomatic manner. *
3. Builds and maintains quality relationships with regular guests. *
4. Monitors the "To Do" list daily to prepare for packages or special/requests. *
5. Works with guest services to maintain an accurate account of the status of each individual room. *
6. Does the Inn and Spa laundry daily, in accordance with procedures put in place by management *
7. Attends a minimum of four department meetings a year and training sessions as required. *
8. Monitors and cleans all common areas when necessary. *
9. Maintains a professional and clean physical appearance.
10. Monitors the pool room for dirty towels and trash.
11. Receives supplies from front desk and delivery people and puts supplies away.
12. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Language Ability:
Ability to read a limited number of two and three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
Math Ability:
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and
100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
