Veterinary hospital in need of an experienced receptionist who is a people-loving pet-lover! Receptionists handle multiple tasks and prioritize the daily activities and tasks. An ideal candidate will have patience and understanding with clients, as well as able to safely handle animals without creating additional stress for the client or pet, and will receive instruction eagerly.
Responsibilities:
- Handle inquiries from multiple communication modalities--phone calls, emails, SMS, and internet requests. Direct the flow of communication as needed to effectively meet the needs of the pet and the expectations of the client.
- Schedule appointments and virtual visits, and document the reasons for each visit and client contact.
- Handling financial transactions accurately.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced environment under pressure and skillfully communicate with fellow team members and clients.
- Experience working in a veterinary hospital is preferred, but not essential.
- Knowledge of medical terminology is helpful, but not essential to start.
- Multi-lingual candidates are encouraged to apply! ASL and Spanish would be valuable.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and other software applications.
- Demonstrate empathy to clients of all ages, as well as to their pets.
- Energy, enthusiasm, emotional intelligence, self-motivation, reliability, and attention to detail are the existing strengths of our team, and we seek an applicant that can step into this kind of environment, and be this kind of team member.
- Spanish or ASL proficiency is valued, but not required.

Pay: $12.00 - $18.00 per hour
