Long Term Substitute - Science Teacher

The following long term substitute teaching position is available for the 2024-2025 school year as noted below.

POSITION: Science Teacher (Biology or Chemistry) - 6 periods/day

AVAILABILITY: April 7, 2025 - May 30, 2025

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university
• Proper licensure required
• Bilingual, Spanish speaking preferred
• ESL endorsement preferred
• Experience preferred
• Proficient with PCs, tablets, and other mobile electronic devices
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Apps and cloud-based applications
• Demonstrated aptitude for the work to be performed
• Demonstrated aptitude as a self-starter who works with minimal supervision
• Effective interpersonal skills and written and oral communication skills
• Effective communication, human relations, and problem solving skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong orientation toward providing customer service
• Strong work ethic
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Ability to work positively and productively with adults and high school age students

ESSENTIAL DUTIES &
RESPONSIBILITIES: Substitute teachers serve the District in the same capacity as a regular classroom teacher during their absence.

SALARY/RATE: Substitute Rate & Long Term Substitute Rate*

• For the first 10 days of teaching: if a Regular School Day ($140.40/full day; $23.40/per period if working less than a full day), or if Early Release/Shortened Day ($122.16/day; $20.36/per period if working less than a full Early Release/Shortened Day). For each day after ten consecutive days teaching for the same teacher, a substitute teacher will be paid the daily long term sub rate, currently $338.70/day (if working a full day); otherwise $56.45/per period (if working less than a full day).
