What are the responsibilities and job description for the MDS RN position at Lake Placid Health and Rehabilitation Center?
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients based on the application of scientific nursing principles
- Assess patient health problems and needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and maintain medical records
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians or authorized medical personnel
- Operate and monitor medical equipment used in patient care
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care
- Educate patients and their families on disease prevention, treatment options, and self-care techniques
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a sterile environment
- Ensure patient safety by closely monitoring vital signs, recognizing changes in health status, and taking appropriate action
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse
- Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems such as Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks
- Experience in specialized areas such as esthetic laser treatment, family planning, neonatal ventilator care, toddler care, or sterile processing is a plus
- Strong knowledge of infection control protocols and practices
