JOB DESCRIPTION
The Medical Assistant is responsible for escorting patients to exam room and assist with preparation to see medical provider.
They will assist Physician, Mid-Level Provider and Clinical Coordinator.
Other duties include: Prepares patients for examination and/or procedures.
Assists the physician and mid-level provider with examinations and treatments.
Perform selected diagnostic tests as directed by the physician.
Assists physicians and mid-levels during examinations.
Knowledge of Cast Placement
Prepares and administers medications as directed by a physician (IM injections).
Enters data into patients’ electronic record; scans and indexes documents accurately to patients electronic medical records.
Cleans rooms between patients.
Knows location of equipment and supplies.
Keeps sinks clean and free of debris.
Assists patients with ambulation, transfer to and from exam table as appropriate.
Other duties as assigned by Practice Manager, Physician and Mid-Level provider.
JOB REQUIREMENT:
High school diploma or GED certificate.
Strong ethical and moral character references.
BLS certification.
Medical Assistance Experience.
Language skills adequate for high-level written, interpersonal and telephone communication in American English.
Excellent grammar and communication skills
Must be able to provide proof of identity and their right to work in the United States.
Medical Assistant certification Preferred.
Urgent Care/Orthopedic prior experience highly desired.
Cooperative work attitude toward co-employees, management, patients, visitors, and physicians.
Ability to promote favorable clinic image with physicians, patients, insurance companies, and general public.
Ability to make decisions and solve problems.
