Job Description: As a Nurse Practitioner, you will play a key role in providing high-quality care for patients with foot and ankle conditions. You will work closely with the podiatric foot and ankle surgeon, assisting in both the clinical and surgical aspects of patient care. Your responsibilities will include evaluating patients, diagnosing conditions, creating treatment plans, performing follow-ups, and assisting with surgical procedures as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct patient assessments and physical examinations, focusing on foot and ankle conditions.
- Diagnose and treat various podiatric conditions, from acute injuries to chronic conditions.
- Collaborate with the foot and ankle surgeon to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Provide preoperative and postoperative care for surgical patients, including education and monitoring.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., Xrays, MRIs) to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment.
- Assist in surgical procedures, including prepping the surgical site and providing intraoperative support.
- Educate patients on proper foot care, injury prevention, and rehabilitation techniques.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records in compliance with practice protocols and regulations.
- Work closely with the clinical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Active Nurse Practitioner license in Texas.
- Previous experience in podiatric, orthopedic, or surgical settings is preferred but not required.
- Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to work independently.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with surgeons, medical staff, and patients.
- Compassionate, empathetic, and patientfocused approach to care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fastpaced environment.
