Lake Port Senior Living is recruiting for a hospitality focused Car & Boat Driver to join our team! The Driver/Boat Captain is responsible for the timely and safe transporting of residents to various individual and group activities/functions (including scenic boat outings on the Community's Pontoon Boat) and medical appointments.
Here are a few of the daily responsibilities:
- Picks up and delivers residents to all scheduled activities and appointments where transportation (Car/Pontoon Boat) is needed.
- Completes a safety check of the applicable vehicle, (i.e., car, van, boat) before transporting residents to and from scheduled activities and appointments.
- Transport residents on scenic boat outings to include safely docking at area lakeside restaurants.
- Assisting residents through embarking and disembarkation.
- Completes safety checks of the Pontoon Boat before transporting residents.
- Accurately records vehicle mileage and resident attendance for all scheduled transportation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Maintains the cleanliness of the vehicle (car/boat), inside and out.
- Transports vehicle(s) to service locations for routine preventive maintenance on vehicle(s) as scheduled by supervisor.
- Notifies supervisor of necessary repairs and vehicle malfunctions.
- Immediately notifies supervisor of resident concerns, problems, or incidents.
- Makes miscellaneous runs for administration errands as necessary.
- Maintains all tools, equipment and supplies in proper condition.
- Accomplishes all work in the order of priority set by supervisor.
- Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.
- Must be CPR, AED and First Aid certified.
- Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Must be also to sit in a vehicle for up to six (6) hours per day; must be able to stoop, bend, stretch and squat to load and unload cargo areas.
- Must have the ability to perform routine preventive maintenance on vehicles according to schedule. Keep vehicles clean.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds for handling boat equipment & lines, luggage and resident groceries.
- May be exposed to the elements (rain, cold, heat) for short periods of time.
- Must have good driving skills to include in handling vehicles on wet and/or slippery roads and a pontoon boat on lake waters in case of inclement weather.
