Oil and Propane Truck Drivers are responsible for fuel transportation. Their duties include loading tank at the organization's assigned fuel terminal, conducting delivery to customer's site and ensuring accurate paperwork. Besides that, they are involved in maintaining a good driving record, providing the best customer service to clients, and maintaining delivery logs. Drivers deliver product safely and efficiently to customers and business in the local area, providing excellent customer service and reliable service.
Duties / Responsibilities :
- Deliver fuel products such as heating oil and LP gas to customers homes and businesses following all FMCSA rules and regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and routes.
- Inspect delivery trucks for mechanical problems and maintenance needs as well as cleanliness.
- Follow all local traffic laws and regulations to avoid accidents and citations.
- Follow company procedures to ensure safe handling of hazardous materials during transfer and storage.
- Operate vehicles to transport fuel from a refinery or distribution facility.
- Maintain proper inventory levels of fuel at retail outlets using automated systems that track the amount of fuel on hand.
- Load and unload fuel onto delivery trucks using automated equipment.
- Follow safety procedures to prevent injuries to oneself and others while working with machinery or fueling vehicles.
- Perform prime and start oil deliveries.
- Perform leak check.
- Ability to work long hours, including weekends and holidays on call.

Required Skills / Abilities :
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required. Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen. All technicians must have a valid CDL A or B license. Driving record is reviewed at employment, and annually thereafter, and must meet company standards.

COMPUTER SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of industry-specific electronic equipment, GPS, and other navigation applications. Ability to input data using a tablet is required.
Physical Requirements :
Constant physical effort, including standing, is required during a regular work shift of at least eight hours per day. Employee must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time, and to stoop, bend, and crouch as required to perform essential duties. Frequently work with hands extended overhead, sometimes in conjunction with the operation of hand power tools. Ability to lift, on a frequent basis, at least 50 pounds personally, and up to 150 pounds with assistance. Frequently walk on uneven surfaces, including natural ground in varying weather conditions. Driver must be able to climb on and off heavy mobile equipment safely.
