Lake Region Healthcare is seeking a caring, motivated student nurse intern to join our nursing team. You’ll have the ability to work in a fast-paced, exciting environment where teamwork is a key focus. You will provide a healing touch for all ages, and feel rewarded by the care you provide each day.
The qualified candidate will use effective interpersonal and communication skills to maintain contact with patients, patient families and visitors, LRH employees, referral agencies, volunteers, administration, and physicians.
The internship is designed to help the student to:
- Utilize the nursing process (Assessment, Planning, Intervention and Evaluation) for providing direct patient care in the acute care setting.
- Manage the care of patients experiencing acute and chronic conditions utilizing a holistic approach.
- Integrate knowledge and skills acquired throughout the program: critical thinking, care coordination, decision making, leadership, collaboration, and communication skills.
- Develop clinical reasoning and competent nursing practice and begin transition to professional practice.

Qualifications
To be eligible for the student nurse internship, the applicant must be:
- Enrolled in Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) degree or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Program.
- By internship start date, must have completed junior year or equivalent
- o Preparing to enter final two semesters of nursing program
- o Completed at least one semester of clinicals in ASN program or at least 2 semesters at a BSN program
- Provide proof of current CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
- Proof of continued enrollment in a professional nursing program with no break in enrolment to exceed one year.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 preferred.
- Available to work full time for eight contiguous weeks (June 2- July 26, 2025).
