Lake Regional is looking for a strong Laboratory Information System Analyst with previous experience! The ideal candidate will be responsible for the overall maintenance of the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and interfaces.
Summary:
- Provides daily operational management of the LIS
- Maintain current test compendium and build new tests as needed in all LIS modules including Core Lab, Microbiology, Pathology, and Blood Bank
- Build, maintain and validate interfaces, auto-verification, and calculations as needed
- Provide staff with training in LIS functionality and set up appropriate staff access
- Assist with maintaining integration with other applications including reference lab and ambulatory system interfaces
- Write and revise LIS related policies
- Work collaboratively with hospital information systems staff, information management staff, and patient financial systems staff
- Acts as a liaison between the laboratory and other health system units as well as external agencies concerning issues with the LIS
- Perform testing on LIS priority pack updates as needed
- Assist laboratory, hospital, and clinic staff with LIS related questions
- Manage personnel time, performance, and productivity for LIS functions
- Participate in and lead project teams and meetings as necessary
- Ensures Clinical Lab hardware and systems comply with security policies and standards
- Ensure that laboratory computer systems, workflows and processes are compliant with laboratory regulations
- Reports to the Laboratory Manager

- Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or Associates degree in a chemical, physical, biological science, or medical technology and/or certification/licensure as an MT (ASCP), MT (AMT), or equivalent registry (strongly preferred) or work experience with an emphasis in Computer Science, Data Processing, Computer Information Systems, or in a related field
- Broad knowledge of the IT environment; solid knowledge of information systems function
- Knowledge necessary to design, set up, operate, and correct malfunctions involving technology systems
- Knowledge of computer security tools, best practices, and policies
- Experience with building and maintaining interfaces with lab instruments
- Experience writing calculations, building tests, and rules for auto-verification
- Solid interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills
- Solid knowledge of related principles and concepts to provide solutions to more complex and diverse information systems issues; solid ability to gather, organize and analyze data in the completion of assignments
- Experience with high complexity laboratory testing is strongly preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; solid ability to communicate highly technical information in a clear and concise manner to both technical and non-technical personnel
- Annual influenza vac required.
Experience:
- Prior experience in Laboratory Information Systems and/or Hospital Information Systems required with computer maintenance, interface setups.
- Teaching techniques and knowledge preferred.
- Experience with Meditech LIS is a plus.
