What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Radiologic Tech - Mammo/DEXA position at Lake Regional Health System?
LRHS is looking for a professional, dedicated licensed Radiology Technologist specializing in Mammography/DEXA to deliver a high quality of service with a professional approach & appearance to promote customer satisfaction by providing courteous, confidential, proficient practices and prompt responses as a fully contributing member of the patient care team. Overview:
- Performs quality Mammography and DEXA exams after verification of patient identification, physician order and correct exam order in Cerner/Meditech.
- Demonstrates ability to proficiently operate Mammography and DEXA imaging equipment.
- Obtain the highest quality images by using the appropriate techniques for patient positioning for screening, tomography, and diagnostic exams, and invasive mammography procedures.
- Obtain patient height and weight, perform scan, produce high quality bone density images, analyze and print report for the physician, when working in the DEXA department.
- Monitors patients during procedures to ensure patient safety.
- Maintains and pursues professional development per ARRT requirements.
- Knowledge with hospital computer site software systems for viewing patient charts, schedules and PACS for sending information both accurately and efficiently.
- Effectively communicates on an intra/inter – departmental level with administrative, medical staff, and peers.
- Clean and restock exam rooms, store rooms, and monitor department cleanliness.
- Place service calls if needed.
- Attends required meetings and in-services
- Must abide by all TJC, Federal, ACR., State, etc. guidelines as they impact the specific areas of Diagnostic Imaging
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Must have current Missouri License to practice as Radiologic Technologist or a Limited Radiologic Technologist
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- The candidate must have a current LSRT and ARRT license
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Annual influenza vaccine required.
