Overview
The Vice President (VP) of Retail Banking focuses on ensuring our locations provide an extraordinary banking experience which helps our clients, associates, and Lake Ridge Bank achieve their financial goals. This role is responsible for guiding and supporting Senior Retail Managers, who each oversee a region of Retail Managers. The VP ensures the alignment of retail operations with the bank’s mission, vision, and strategic goals, focusing on client experience, sales growth, profitability, operational efficiency, and associate development. This position plays a pivotal role in fostering a culture of exceptional service and collaboration across all retail locations. The home office of this position can be flexible.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
- Implement the strategic vision for the Retail Banking division in alignment with Lake Ridge Bank’s overall goals.
- Provide leadership and direction to Senior Retail Managers, ensuring effective management of regional operations.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for sales, client satisfaction, and operational efficiency across all retail locations.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to drive initiatives that enhance client experience, expand market share, and achieve financial objectives.
- Spearhead change management efforts, ensuring seamless adoption of new policies, procedures, and technologies across the Retail Banking division.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Guide, mentor, and support Senior Retail Managers to optimize their leadership capabilities and ensure the success of their regions.
- Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement among all retail associates.
- Oversee talent development initiatives, including succession planning, career development, and performance management for the Retail Banking offices.
- Foster an inclusive and diverse workplace, ensuring equitable opportunities for all associates.
Client Experience:
- Champion Lake Ridge Bank’s commitment to providing extraordinary client experiences.
- Ensure retail offices deliver personalized, high-quality service that positions the bank as a trusted advisor to clients.
- Analyze client feedback and industry trends to identify opportunities for enhancing service delivery.
- Collaborate with Marketing and other departments to implement branding, promotional, and community engagement strategies that elevate the bank’s reputation.
Sales and Profitability:
- Drive the Retail Banking division’s sales performance, ensuring achievement of growth and profitability targets.
- Implement and support effective sales practices, incentive programs, and marketing campaigns.
- Analyze sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Ensure collaboration with other business units, such as Commercial Banking and Wealth Management, to maximize cross-selling opportunities.
Operational Excellence:
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, compliance standards, and bank policies across all retail locations.
- Implementation of standardized operating procedures to drive consistency and efficiency.
- Collaborate with other departments, including Compliance and Retail Operations, to address operational challenges and ensure seamless service delivery.
- Monitor and address operational metrics, such as balancing guidelines, client documentation, and branch efficiencies.
Community and Organizational Engagement
- Represent Lake Ridge Bank at community events and industry functions to enhance visibility and strengthen relationships.
- Encourage associate involvement in community initiatives to align with the bank’s mission of supporting local prosperity.
- Actively participate in leadership meetings, strategic planning sessions, and cross-departmental initiatives.
Other Responsibilities
- Continually develop knowledge, skills and abilities thorough internal and external training programs
- Complete all annual security and compliance training as required.
- Maintain confidentiality of client information at all times.
- Actively participate in bank and department meetings.
- Perform all other duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field and minimum of 7-9 years work experience in retail banking, management or similar environment.
- Previous personal banking or lending experience with a strong understanding of financial products/services.
- Proven experience in leadership, preferably within the financial services industry.
- Strong knowledge of digital banking platforms and technologies.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects.
- Proven concern for quality of work, guidelines, processes, etc.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to be able to interact and communicate with a diverse group of clients.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and work with little to no supervision
- Demonstrated ability to represent the organization in a professional, positive manner
- Good accounting skills with the ability to work precisely with numbers and financial calculations
- Capability to maintain confidentiality of client information
- Ability to put forth the extra effort necessary to make the office a successful operation including the willingness to work additional hours (evenings and weekends), attend outside educational programs, seminars, etc.
- Ability to speak, read, write and understand English clearly
This position is a full time position with hours of 8am – 5pm Monday-Friday with the flexibility.
