Duties
- Patrol assigned areas to deter and detect criminal activity.
- Respond to emergency calls and incidents requiring police assistance.
- Conduct thorough investigations of crimes, including gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses.
- Prepare detailed reports documenting incidents, arrests, and other law enforcement activities.
- Enforce traffic laws and regulations to ensure road safety.
- Engage in community outreach programs to foster positive relationships between law enforcement and the public.
- Utilize surveillance techniques to monitor suspicious activities or individuals.
- Handle animal-related incidents with care and professionalism, including animal control duties when necessary.
- Maintain physical fitness and proficiency in driving under various conditions.
Qualifications
- Must have a current N.C. BLET Certification to be a Police Officer
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in criminal justice or related fields is preferred.
- Proven experience in law enforcement or military service is advantageous.
- Must pass pre-employment screening
- Strong understanding of surveillance techniques and report writing skills.
- Ability to perform animal care and handling as needed during law enforcement duties.
- Certification in CPR is highly desirable.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to make quick decisions under pressure.
- Valid NC driver's license
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with the public and other law enforcement personnel.
- Must be friendly and professional in all settings.
