Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Plan and carry out instructional duties, which maximize learning by students.
- Supervise students in accordance with program procedures, and academic, and course-related concerns.
- Teaches assigned courses per course descriptions.
- Work a minimum of 35 hours per week, which includes 15 classroom hours, 10 office or student contact hours, and 10 hours as needed by the program/college.
- Assist with registration and/or recruitment when requested.
- Furnish each student with a course syllabus listing performance objectives, course expectations, grading procedures, withdrawal procedures, class attendance policies, and office phone and e-mail access.
- Function as a member of the faculty committee in developing the instructional program and educational philosophy of the college.
- Attend all scheduled or called meetings by the President, Vice President of Workforce, Vice President of Academic Affairs, Deans, Department Chairs, and Dean of AS Nursing unless excused by the administrator in charge.
- Teach all classes for the full period as scheduled.
- Evaluate student progress and achievement with clear methods presented on the course syllabus.
- Utilizes evaluation results for planning, instruction, counseling, and program modification.
- Keep accurate and up-to-date records.
- Submit grade reports and other required data on or before deadline dates.
- Resolve discipline problems within the sphere of responsibility.
- Assist and counsel students as needed including during office and campus times.
- Utilizes materials and equipment necessary to accomplish designated tasks.
- Demonstrate knowledge of current instructional developments.
- Regularly examines the content of assigned courses and recommends changes to the curriculum committee as needed.
- Comply with appropriate administrative rules/regulations and Board Policy.
- Participates in an annual evaluation process as specified by the Vice President of Workforce.
- Participate in Commencement ceremonies and Nursing pinning ceremonies.
- Maintain continuity of communication with students, community, faculty, staff, and supervisors through timely replies to meeting, phone, mail, and email requests.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Online course development and delivery experiences are preferred.
- Workforce experience in the subject-matter area is required.
- Ability to demonstrate proficiency in working with various virtual meeting platforms.
- Expertise in health information technology, medical office management, and medical records.
Minimum Qualifications & Education
- Master's Degree, with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in teaching discipline.
- Alternative credentialing may be possible depending on work experience and industry certifications.
