Job Summary
The Wellness Center Specialist is responsible for overseeing operations of the weight room facility, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all users during the dates/times agreed upon prior to hiring. This role includes maintaining equipment, enforcing facility policies and providing guidance on proper exercise techniques. This position will ensure compliance with all safety and health regulations. Communication and organizational skills are essential to the success of this role.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Director of Athletics, responsible for the management and daily care of the LSSC Wellness Center.
- Maintain data to support the use of the facility by student-athletes, general student population as well as faculty and staff.
- Responsible for oversight of the safety of participants using the athletic/fitness equipment, including sanitizing.
- Instruct participants in the correct usage of athletic/fitness equipment and exercises.
- Communicate services as needed for the maintenance of Weight Room with supervisor and/or administration approval.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; ability to use human relations skills in establishing and maintaining effective working conditions with employees and the public, college employees, students and organizations
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Maintain currency with new technology training methods, and ability to analyze the relevancy to college faculty and staff.
- Knowledge of principles, methods and techniques of human resources administration related to the area of employee relations, health and wellness, and performance management.
Minimum Qualifications & Education
- Associate’s Degree from an accredited institution
- Understanding of operations within a wellness center
- Previous experience in wellness center setting is required
