Job Summary
This entry-level position offers a unique opportunity for a current student to gain valuable work experience while contributing to the success of Lake Sumter State College. The Student Assistant will provide essential support, working closely with faculty and staff to ensure the efficient operation of departmental activities.
This is a part-time position with an expected commitment of up to 20 hours per week. The schedule will be flexible to accommodate the student’s academic and other responsibilities.
Responsible for demonstrating LSSC’s values of Caring, Communicating, Collaborating, and Celebrating.
Students cannot work during class meeting times.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Communicate with admitted and prospective students via email, phone, text, and Zoom to guide them through the enrollment process.
- Address inquiries about admissions deadlines, academic programs, orientation, transcripts, Florida Residency, etc.
- Follow up with students as necessary.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications & Education
- Currently enrolled at Lake Sumter State College (min. 6 credit hours)
- Currently, hold and maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA
- Minimum age of 18 and not dually enrolled
These are part time student positions working at least 20 hours per week and do not offer benefits
