This entry-level position offers a unique opportunity for a current student to gain valuable work experience while contributing to the success of Lake Sumter State College. The Student Assistant will provide essential support, working closely with faculty and staff to ensure efficient operation or departmental activities.
This is a part-time position with an expected commitment of 20 hours per week. The schedule will be flexible to accommodate the student's academic and other responsibilities.

- Answer phones and greet guests visiting the department.
- Assist department with clerical work-filing, copies, mail distribution, bank deposits, board meeting preparation, etc.Â
- Assist with event preparation, including preparing mailers, preparing race packets, managing linens and decor.
- Prepare staging area for each event with all required items to be transported for event.
- Assist with setup and breakdown of all events.Â
- Organize & maintain all department supplies, decor and event inventory.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Currently enrolled at Lake Sumter State College (min. 6 credit hours)
- Currently, hold and maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA
- Minimum age of 18 and not Dual Enrolled
