This entry-level position offers a unique opportunity for a current student to gain valuable work experience while contributing to the success of Lake Sumter State College. The Student Assistant will provide essential support, working closely with faculty and staff to ensure efficient operation or departmental activities.
This is a part-time position with an expected commitment of 20-25 hours per week. The schedule will be flexible to accommodate the student's academic and other responsibilities.
Responsible for demonstrating LSSC's values of Caring, Communicating, Collaborating, and Celebrating.
Students cannot work during class meeting times.
- Check materials in and out at the service desk using circulation software & place holds for materials.
- Field questions at the service desk, answering phones and providing directional answers.
- Assist library patrons with automated pay-to-print stations.
- Shelve books, periodicals, and archival material; read shelves.
- Assist students with instructor course reserve materials.
- Provide assistance with Microsoft Office applications as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
