Job Summary
This entry-level position offers a unique opportunity for a current student to gain valuable work experience while contributing to the success of Lake Sumter State College. The Student Assistant will provide essential support, working closely with faculty and staff to ensure efficient operation or departmental activities.
This is a part-time position with an expected commitment of 20-25 hours per week. The schedule will be flexible to accommodate the student’s academic and other responsibilities.
Responsible for demonstrating LSSC’s values of Caring, Communicating, Collaborating, and Celebrating.
Students cannot work during class meeting times.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist and support the Coordinator of Student Activities with daily tasks
- Assist in promoting annual events and updating online event software (Presence)
- Communicate event details to the college stakeholders, such as the Marketing Department
- Assist with the planning and execution of campus-wide events
- Attend meetings when a student representative is requested
- Update campus-wide bulletin boards with relevant material
- Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications & Education
- Currently enrolled at Lake Sumter State College (min. 6 credit hours)
- Currently, hold and maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA
- Minimum age of 18 and not Dual Enrolled
These are part time student positions working at least 20 hours per week and do not offer benefits
