This entry-level position offers a unique opportunity for a current student to gain valuable work experience while contributing to the success of Lake Sumter State College. The Student Assistant will provide essential support working closely with faculty and staff to ensure efficient operation or departmental activities.
This is a part-time position with an expected commitment of 20-25 hours per week. The schedule will be flexible to accommodate the student's academic and other responsibilities.

- Perform as the Lakehawk Mascot or Handler at athletic games, college events, and community functions.
- Appear at community outreach and charity events sponsored or supported by the College.
- Positively represents the College.
- Participate in the filming of commercials, promotional videos, and photo campaigns.
- Serve in a rotation as a Mascot Handler.
- Perform other tasks as needed. Â Â Â Â Â Â
- Possess an outgoing personality with the ability to provide excellent customer service and positive, respectful interaction with fans, students, staff, and community members, including children of all ages.
- Able to assume the character of the Mascot/Handler as outlined by the College.
- Be in good physical condition to wear the costume, stand and walk, and be active for extended periods of time.
