Title: Professional Writing Tutor
VP Area: Academic Affairs
Department: Library & Academic Services
Published Salary Range: $20 per hour - Part Time, Temporary
Job Summary/Basic Function:
Reports directly to the Director of Library and Academic Services. Responsible for assisting students acrossall disciplines to develop better writing skills while ensuring that written work is error free and accurate.
Assist students in one-on-one sessions, either in person or virtually, on issues including but not limited to:

- Understanding assignment expectations
- Generating, organizing, and developing ideas
- Analyzing, synthesizing, and arguing
- Summarizing, paraphrasing, and documenting sources
- Recognizing and revising issues with grammar and syntax
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education.
- Minimum two years professional experience.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and publishing programs.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students.
