JOB SUMMARY
Works under the direct supervision of the Unit Manager. Responsibilities include, making beds, transporting residents to activities, escort them to outside medical appointments , facilitating some on unit activities (puzzles, reading, writing letters, 1:1 visits), assisting in feeding residents, filling water pitchers, serving snacks and beverages, cleaning residents glasses, answering telephones in the absence of unit secretary and other duties as deemed necessary by the unit manager.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
- Appropriately meeting duties as assigned each day.
- Assisting nursing staff as deemed necessary.
- All of the following are performed in a timely manner according to assignments: making beds, assisting in feeding residents, filling water pitchers, transporting patients/residents to scheduled activities.
- Provides assistance to patients/residents as required. Duties such as: combing hair, cleaning closets, reading, writing letters.
- Report any observed problems or changes in patient's/resident's condition to the charge nurse.
- Communicates appropriately and effectively with patients/residents, and their family members.
- Is responsible at all times, to respect the privacy, confidentiality, and the dignity of the residents/patients of Lake Taylor Hospital and to uphold their rights.
- Participates in inservice education programs, and attends other meetings as required by the Head Nurse, Nursing Administration, or other Hospital managers.
- Hours: 7:00am-3:00pm / 10am-6pm
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- EDUCATION: High School Diploma, or GED equivalency is preferred.
- EXPERIENCE: At least one year of successful work experience preferred.
