Working under the supervision of the Director of Nursing, the Q.A./Infection Control Nurse is responsible for facility-wide, infection control standards and compliance with same. The incumbent devises methods for assuring a strong quality assurance program, and develops criteria to meet the standards of the nursing department as well as those of State and Federal regulatory agencies. Performs other duties as assigned. The Infection Control Nurse serves as a liaison between the Infection Control Committee and the various hospital departments. The nurse plans, develops and activates the Infection Control program for the hospital and maintains accurate records for same.
