PURPOSE : To help students develop a strong understanding of content area concepts and critical thinking skills, while supporting their growth as mature, responsible individuals through engaging lessons and real-world applications.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Plan and deliver content area instruction aligned with district curriculum, standards, and objectives.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and student-centered classroom environment that fosters respect, collaboration, and real-world applications.
- Design engaging, rigorous, and differentiated learning experiences that meet the diverse needs of students.
- Employ research-based instructional methods, integrating appropriate technology to enhance learning.
- Assess student progress regularly using clear criteria, and provide timely and accurate feedback to guide future instruction.
- Ensure students understand assessment criteria and fosters self-reflection.
- Maintain detailed records of student data, including academic, social-emotional, and medical information, in compliance with district policies.
- Collaborate with colleagues, special education staff, and other stakeholders to support student success.
- Honor and implement 504 and IEP plans, ensuring legal compliance and student support.
- Manage student behavior effectively to maximize learning time and engagement.
- Maintain respectful, age-appropriate dialogue with students.
- Collaborate with special education and specialty staff to address student needs.
- Prepare detailed lesson plans for substitutes, ensuring continuity of learning, including critical student information.
- Communicate progress to parents and guardians regularly and respond promptly to inquiries.
- Adhere to district policies and demonstrates professionalism in all interactions.
- Incorporate district-prescribed technology to support instruction and learning.
- Supervise students during arrival, dismissal, and / or transition times as assigned.
- Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required, while maintaining professionalism in all interactions.
- Perform other duties as assigned by administration.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES :
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT : 182 Days. Salary to be established by the Board of Education.
EVALUATION : Performance of this job will be evaluated by the Building Principal or Dean in accordance with provisions of Board policy.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk, hear, taste, and smell. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

SALARY AND BENEFITS :
Salary Schedule : 2024-2025 Salary Schedule
Payroll Schedule : Distributed over 26 periods, every other Friday
