SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Located just outside of Seattle, WA, Lake Washington Institute of Technology (LWTech) was founded in 1949, and is the only public institute of technology in the state of Washington. LWTech offers 10 applied bachelor's degrees, more than 40 associate degrees, and 80 professional certificates in 41 areas of study, including STEM-focused programs in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. LWTech is located within the city of Kirkland, which is home to companies such as GoDaddy, Google, Astronics and EvergreenHealth, and the college is within minutes from Microsoft and Nintendo. Lake Washington Institute of Technology is seeking qualified part time instructors to teach in the Digital Gaming and Interactive Media AAS-T associates degree program. All instructor positions require two years work experience- relevant industry experience, college teaching experience and industry certifications are preferred. Experience in three or more of the following areas :
- Autodesk Maya - focus on 3D polygonal character animation for beginners
- Basic beginning character rigging in Maya
- Keyframing and curve editing in the Maya Graph Editor
- Ability to convey emotion, action and movement (storytelling) through short animation
- Preferred real-time game animation experience
- Knowledge of PC & Mac Gaming Hardware and Software

Compensation
Placement on the faculty salary schedule is based on an individual assessment of education and experience. The salary for part time faculty contracts shall be based upon the number of credits assigned the faculty member, the type of class taught, and the rates contained in the part time faculty salary schedule currently in effect and labeled Appendix B.
Step 1 ranges from $738.38 - $2,335.13
Step 2 ranges from $819.15 - $2,457.46
Step 3 ranges from $835.95 - $2,507.85
Step 4 ranges from $893.51 - $2,680.54
Step 5 ranges from $916.30 - $2,748.90
Step 6 ranges from $957.08 - $2,871.24

CORRECTIONS OR EXTENDED NOTICES
A part time faculty member becomes eligible for benefits at the beginning of the second consecutive quarter of half time or more of in-class teaching at one or more Washington state institutions of higher education. Spring and fall quarters are considered consecutive quarters for benefits eligibility. Half time is determined based on each institution's definition of full time. A part time faculty member must qualify each quarter they teach to maintain eligibility. Once eligible, part time faculty will be notified of their benefit and retirement options.Sick leave accrues at 1 day (Prorated based on % of FTE) per month.
