- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, finance or related field. Additional professional level experience may substitute for required education.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ professional experience in accounting, and/or budgeting preferred.
- Prior public-school experience preferred.
- Assists in reviewing, organizing, and developing the district’s annual budget and supporting documents and reports.
- Provides customer service, training, and technical support to department and school office professionals related to budgets and related reports and procedures.
- Reviews and processes budget transfers and journal entries to maintain accuracy and compliance.
- Assists in calculating budget allocations, enrollment projections, and maintaining the chart of accounts.
- Monitors budget expenditures, variances, accounts, and claims for grants and other funding sources.
- Advises grant managers on status of grant accounts and requirements for budget revisions.
- Collects, tracks, and maintains documents required for the federal free and reduced meals program and ensures compliance.
- Calculates year-end revenue accruals for grants and maintains annual grant schedule for auditor review.
- Prepares financial reports to inform decision making.
- Provides customer support as a resource to staff, administration, and the community.
- Ensures compliance with district policies and state/federal regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Lake Washington School District, Business Services department is looking for qualified candidates for the position of Budget Analyst (General Fund).
Position Summary:
The Budget Analyst (General Fund) assists with the budget development and budget monitoring processes. This position works with a wide variety of stakeholders to support the district’s financial operations including financial analysis, budget preparation and grants management. This position reports to the Budget Supervisor. This is a full-time, year round position with full benefit package. This position begins as soon as possible.
Professional-Technical Level D
Salary: Step 1: $82,823 to Step 2: $84,513 per year, 260 days. (SC10 Prof Tech Salary)
Shift: 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Hours: 8.0/ day
Location: Resource Center
