What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bartender/Server position at Lake Wildwood Association?
Job Summary: A Bartender/Server contributes to the success of The Oaks by executing a memorable dining experience; beginning with a warm welcome, then guiding the guest through ordering drinks and ensuring consistent drink quality by preparing orders quickly and in accordance with recipes and guidelines. This also includes placing food orders timely and checking in on guests that they are enjoying their meal and ending with a desire to return. In addition, a bartender/server maintains the work area in a clean and orderly manner throughout their shift.
Education and Experience:
a. Must have experience in bartending and serving.
b. Ability to multi-task and balance/prioritize work.
c. Experience using POS systems.
d. Knowledgeable in health and sanitation guidelines
e. Excellent Communication skills
f. Ability to work with a diverse group of people and communicate with all levels of management.
g. Passionate about engaging and creating personal connections with our community members.
Certificates/Licenses:
a. Valid Identification.
b. RBS Server Certification – Required within 30 days.
c. California food handlers Certification within 30 days.
d. High School Diploma or Equivalent
Additional Training Required within 30 Days:
a. Sexual Harassment Training
Language/Communication: Ability to read, write and speak English is required.
Job Requirements:
a. Upholds professional food and beverage image including cleanliness, proper uniform, and appearance standards.
b. Must be 21 years or older.
c. Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages for bar and restaurant patrons.
d. Interact with customers, take orders, and serve snacks and drinks.
e. Greet newly sat guests promptly and in a friendly manner.
f. Ring all orders in the company P.O.S system.
g. Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations.
h. Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails.
i. Practice creative mixology.
j. Plan and present bar menu.
k. Maintain a clean and organized bar.
l. Check customers’ identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age.
m. Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies.
n. Stay guest-focused and nurture an excellent guest experience.
o. Comply with all food and beverage regulations.
p. Perform all additional duties as requested by a manager.
q. Maintain an accurate knowledge of all menu items and upsell when possible.
