Job Title: Campus Instructional Technician Wage/Hour Status: Nonexempt

Primary Purpose:
Perform on-site technical work to install and maintain computer equipment and software applications throughout the district. Respond to work order requests by diagnosing and repairing computer hardware and software.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of computer workstation setup (identify requirement–i.e., Novell workstation)
Knowledge of computer hardware and software applications
Ability to install, maintain, and repair computers and peripherals, including printers, modems,
scanners
Ability to install and maintain network cables and hardware
Ability to diagnose problems and perform repairs
Experience:
One year work experience installing, maintaining, and repairing computers and peripherals
Ability to provide professional development to adults with varying experience levels
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Technical Troubleshooting, Maintenance, and Monitoring
- Assist with the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of computer hardware and/or software present within.
- Relocate computer hardware, peripherals, and equipment as needed.
- Install and configure software as needed and according to protocol.
- Diagnose and repair equipment, including printers, terminals, and personal computers.
- Coordinate with Application Integration Specialist to support campuses during online district assessments (ie. online Checkpoints, NWEA MAP, m-CLASS) as well as online state assessments (ie. Interims, STAAR, EOC, TELPAS).
- Main and communicate a weekly campus schedule to immediate program support and campus principals
- Maintain current knowledge of instructional technology by attending and completing targeted professional development.
- Learn district instructional programs and oversee the implementation in coordination with other district level staff.
- Use surveys and feedback from others to continuously improve support of district-level technology account management.
- Work cooperatively, communicate effectively, and maintain positive interactions with staff, students, parents, and the community.
- Follow ethical guidelines applicable to the position as outlined by professional organization and/or federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
- Model effective instructional strategies using technology in professional development and classroom settings
- Assess levels of teacher technology understanding, skills, and integration within the classroom
- Provide and offer support for programs used by LWISD
- Provide follow up to teachers and administrators who participated in professional development
- Promote a team effort within Teaching and Learning
Safety
- Follow policies, practices, and security measures of Lake Worth ISD to ensure effective and consistent information processing operations and to safeguard information resources.
- Operate tools and equipment according to prescribed safety procedures.
- Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing and carrying.
- Correct unsafe conditions in the work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to the supervisor immediately.

- Respond to after-hours emergencies as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by the campus principal.

Motion: Repetitive hand motion; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; regular walking, grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, reaching; may climb ladders
Lifting: Moderate lifting and carrying (up to 44 pounds); occasional heavy lifting (45 pounds and over)
Environment: Exposure to electrical hazards; occasional prolonged and irregular hours; frequent districtwide travel; May be required to be on-call 24 hours a day.
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
