Room Attendant
Housekeeping is one of the most important departments in the hotel, as keeping a high standard of overall cleanliness throughout the property is of utmost importance. The department ensures that luxury invites our guests to relax and stay awhile, providing our team with the opportunity to provide impeccable service. This position is dependent on both teamwork and individual efforts. The room attendant will ensure all areas of guest rooms are clean and maintained according to the standards set by the hotel, thereby contributing to a pleasant, positive guest experience.
The duties of a Room Attendant will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Respond promptly to requests from guests and other departments.
- Fill cart with supplies and transport cart to assigned area.
- Enter guest rooms following procedures for gaining access and ensuring vacancy before entering.
- Replace guest amenities and supplies in rooms.
- Replace dirty linens and terry with clean items.
- Clean bathrooms, make beds, and fold terry.
- Remove trash, dirty linen, and room service items.
- Check that all appliances are present in the room and in working order.
- Straighten desk items, furniture, and appliances.
- Vacuum carpets and perform floor care duties (e.g., in guest rooms and hallway).
- Dust, polish, and remove marks from walls and furnishings.
- Keep your supervisor updated on room service progress and alert them to any repairs needed.
- Safety aware – always follow our established safety procedures.
- Be organized - keep on top of supplies and amenities and always try to minimize waste.
- Report any items left behind by guest in rooms or areas.
- Work as part of a team and communicate with Housekeeping Manager and Supervisors.
- Regularly assist with deep cleaning projects.
- Assist with other duties as assigned.
