Job Description

Lakehouse Industries is an ITAR compliant, ISO 9001 and AS 9100 certified manufacturing company focused on industrial machining, cutting, marking, and processing parts and products. We are seeking an individual with some experience in an industrial manufacturing setting and/or with some experience using CNC machines.

This position will offer you the opportunity to cultivate your skills as you work closely with team members to prepare raw stock for a particular job, set up equipment and work pieces, operate equipment and machinery, conduct quality control, prepare packages for shipping, and make occasional deliveries.

You will also offer support across various operational areas as required, allowing you to gain exposure to the diverse workflows within a compact manufacturing facility. In this role, you will be assigned a range of tasks throughout the day, catering to the day's specific requirements. For instance, tasks may encompass activities such as receiving, stock preparation, in-person deliveries, report creation, and shop maintenance. In the morning, you might assist in organizing inventory storage, and in the afternoon, your support may be needed preparing shipments.

Requirements

All applicants must have all of the following qualifications:

  • 1 years in a relevant field executing all or most of the position’s duties
  • Strong analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to summarize and explain
  • Solid organizational skills with attention to detail in time and thought management
  • Excellent coordination and mechanical skills
  • Aptitude for math, problem-solving, computers, and mechanics
  • Ability to perform tasks, follow instructions, and learn with minimal supervision
  • Working knowledge of safety protocols
  • Familiarity with common shop and manufacturing processes, operations, and workflows
  • Ability to become certified in operations of various industrial manufacturing equipment
  • Ability to use precision tools (calipers, gauges, surface plate, CMM, etc.)
  • Experience operating CNC machines
  • Experience using warehouse equipment and/or software
  • Ability to learn new software
  • Willing to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
  • Proficient with hand tools
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to climb stairs
  • A valid driver’s license
  • Ability to undergo a background check and drug test
  • Proficient with Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Calendar, and Gmail)

The ideal candidate will also have some to all of the following (you will be asked how many of these apply to you):

  • Experience with CAD/CAM software
  • Proficient with GD&T
  • Familiarity with Fulcrum or other ERP software
  • Experience using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (mills, lathes, etc.)
  • Experience with reading blueprints, sketches, or other engineering drawings
  • Knowledge of methodologies of quality assurance, control, and standards
  • Working knowledge of quality management standards (ISO 9001, AS 9100, etc.)
  • Knowledge of the properties of metal and other material
  • Technical skills with mechanical and computer operated equipment or machinery
  • Experience with purchasing, receiving, inventory management, logistics, or shipping
  • Familiarity with git

Job Duties

  • Observe and follow company safety rules and regulations
  • Provide general assistance around the shop, including administrative and technical tasks
  • Assist with purchasing, receiving, inventory management, and shipping
  • Collaborate with others in order to ensure that equipment is in proper working order
  • Take measurements and mark material for cutting or shaping
  • Prepare machines for production by loading the necessary cutting tools, fixtures, and workpieces as directed
  • Operate tools and equipment to aid in the manufacturing process
  • Inspect, test, or measure materials and products by performing quality control checks
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and repair
  • Keep equipment and work areas clean and organized
  • Participate in team meetings about production and/or the quality management system
  • Generate supporting documentation required by the QMS such as, but not limited to, nonconformance reports, corrective or preventive action reports, and receiving inspections
  • Perform data collection and data entry for relevant internal documents
  • Recommend adjustments to the production process and quality management system
  • Contribute to the team effort by performing other tasks as assigned

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
