General Function:
Under the guidance of the Childcare Program Director, the Head Teacher is responsible for the overall direction of the Childcare classroom to which she is assigned including: planning and implementing the daily program, training, equipment, room maintenance, lesson plans, curriculum planning and working with other staff co-operatively to plan and implement special events. It is our goal to teach in a fun, positive manner, in which a child can grow and become sure of themselves and their abilities through physical, social and academic learning.
Qualifications
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must have a strong interest and knowledge in preschool/pre-k development with at least one year of classroom experience.
- Must possess strong communication and leadership skills and have the knowledge necessary to establish and maintain a high-quality preschool program.
- Must have the ability to work cooperatively with other staff members and volunteers to meet the needs of the YMCA.
- Must possess and maintain a clean criminal record.
- Maintain first aid & CPR certification.
- Maintain a positive attitude for team harmony.
- Be flexible in a fast-paced environment.
Salary : $18 - $23
