What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Safety Advisor position at Lakeland HR Solutions?
J. Post Haulage is a family-owned trucking company who take pride in their equipment and work performed. They are currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Part-Time Safety Advisor. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of health and safety regulations, as well as experience in a health and safety role or field role in the oil and gas industry.
This position is based out of the Elk Point area.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for monitoring adherence to the company safety program
- Plan, design, develop, implement, and evaluate departmental occupational safety programs.
- Complete internal audits and support external audits.
- Documentation control for safety orientation, safety training, job site inspections, and reporting including required online reporting (ISNet, Comply Works, WCB)
- Maintain awareness of amendments to the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations and makes recommendations for their implementation.
- Support job site safety compliance inspections including hazard analysis, safe work procedures, written reports, and recommendations.
- Ensure the timely completion of accident/injury reporting!
- Coordinate inspections, investigations, and occupational safety activities with departments.
Requirements:
- NCSO or working on completing the course.
- 2-5 years of experience in a health and safety role or field role in oil and gas industry an asset
- Class 5 Driver's Licence
- Valid First Aid, H2S, CSO, Incident Investigation
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Able to pass a 10-panel pre-access D&A test
