This role ensures the accurate and organized management of HR records, assists in onboarding and offboarding, and supports employee engagement initiatives across all Lakeland Monroe Group plants. Job Summary:
The HR Assistant is responsible for supporting HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and HR documentation. This role ensures the accurate and organized management of HR records, assists in onboarding and offboarding, and supports employee engagement initiatives across all Lakeland Monroe Group plants. The ideal candidate will have prior HR experience and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
What you will be doing:
- Maintain and update HR records, documentation, databases, and systems, including ADP and PLEX cleanup.
- Assist in recruiting hourly positions, creating and maintaining job postings, and scheduling interviews.
- Support employee relations by addressing issues, answering questions, providing handbook clarifications, and ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Manage employee communications, including maintaining the employee communication board and preparing/distributing HR-related documents.
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring proper documentation and compliance.
- Coordinate and support HR initiatives, training, and development programs.
- Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and process flowcharts.
- Assist with benefits administration and employee support.
- Manage the employee review process and tracking.
- Organize and assist with employee events.
- Rotate between different plant locations based on scheduled days and times.
- Perform miscellaneous HR duties and projects as assigned.
- Prior HR experience required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Effective organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks effectively.
- Capability to function well in a high-paced, occasionally stressful environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR-related software.
- BA/BS in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of HR experience required.
- Experience in a manufacturing or multi-location environment is a plus.
- Prolonged periods of standing and/or walking during an 8-hour shift.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
- Frequent standing, using hands to handle or feel objects, reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Occasional walking and talking or hearing.
- Specific vision abilities required, including close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
