Job Summary:
The Molding Operator operates a injection molding machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. As the Molding Operator you are responsible to visually inspect and package molded parts to meet inspection guidelines.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Operate molding machine as indicated by Work Instructions, Lead Operator, Technician and/or Supervisor.
- Inspect parts for cosmetic defects per Inspection Instruction Sheet.
- Communicate molding problems to Technician, Supervisor or Lead Operator.
- Communicate to other shifts any special instructions or quality issues.
- Maintain clean work area and assist in keeping molding department clean and orderly.
- Assist in relieving other operators for breaks if needed.
- Assist in other duties, as needed. Such as annealing of parts and putting boxed and bagged parts away.
- Enter production data into ERP system (PLEX)
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to understand and complete simple one- or two-step instructions.
- Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
- Knowledge of basic mathematical concepts.
- Ability to use a computer proficiently.
Education and Experience:
- 0-1 Years of Experience in a Manufacturing Environment
- HS Degree or GED equivalent.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing up to 8 hours.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
- The employee frequently is required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee is occasionally required to walk and talk or hear.
