The Paint Supervisor plays a critical role in overseeing the paint production process within our manufacturing facility in Lakeland, LAK. This position is responsible for ensuring that all painting operations meet quality standards, production schedules, and safety regulations. The Paint Supervisor will lead a team of skilled workers, providing guidance and support to enhance productivity and efficiency. Additionally, this role involves troubleshooting any issues that arise during the painting process and implementing solutions to maintain workflow. Ultimately, the Paint Supervisor is key to delivering high-quality painted products that meet customer specifications and contribute to the overall success of the manufacturing operation.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Manage 10-15 direct reports.
- Evaluate direct reports on performance, discipline, and safety.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Manage and develop a team, providing support, guidance, and coaching to help them achieve their full potential
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the paint line to ensure efficiency and effectiveness
- Utilize technical tools and equipment to manage inventory and track painting operations, developing and implementing processes to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Troubleshoot any issues related to painting equipment, processes, or procedures, working closely with other departments to ensure that production goals are met.
- Provide training and coaching to team members, encouraging and motivating them to improve their skills and knowledge.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and OSHA requirements, maintaining a clean and organized painting area.
- Communicate with customers and vendors to address any questions or concerns related to painting operations.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong leadership and communication skills to motivate and manage a team, coordinate with other departments, and address customer inquiries.
- Technical skills to use painting equipment and other technical tools, with knowledge and experience managing a robotic paint line preferred.
- Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues with painting equipment, processes, and procedures, improving efficiency and productivity.
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in inventory records and painting documentation, with familiarity of OSHA requirements to ensure safety compliance.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and moving equipment or materials.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent
- Experience with Plex is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Paint Supervisor or similar role
- Strong knowledge of paint application processes and equipment
- Experience with robotic paint lines preferred.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to manage and develop a team effectively.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and quality standards in the paint industry
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Standing, Walking 8 hours a day
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
