Multimedia Content Producer/Director

Job Summary:
We are looking for a dynamic and versatile Multimedia Content Producer/Director to create
compelling television and digital content. The ideal candidate will possess strong storytelling
skills, technical expertise in video production, and the ability to manage projects from concept to
completion. This role involves producing and directing a variety of short and long form content
focused on arts, culture and history, for broadcast and online platforms.
Responsibilities:
Content Creation and Production:
○ Conceptualize, research, and develop compelling story ideas for both television
and digital platforms, ensuring content meets PBS broadcast standards.
○ Schedule and conduct interviews and gather necessary information for program
production.
○ Schedule, manage and shoot on-location and studio productions, ensuring
efficient and high-quality results.
○ Operate and maintain video, audio and lighting equipment.
○ Collaborate with and assist other production personnel on shoots and interviews.
Editing & Post-Production:
○ Edit video and audio content using professional editing software (Adobe
Premiere Pro, Audition, and Photoshop).
○ Manage and archive digital media assets.
Multimedia & Digital Content:
○ Produce short-form videos exclusively for online platforms.
○ Upload broadcast content for online platforms (website, PBS app, YouTube).
Community Engagement:
○ Build and maintain relationships with community members, organizations, and
stakeholders.
○ Represent Lakeland PBS at community events and outreach initiatives.
○ Identify and cultivate local talent and resources.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor's degree in film, television production, media studies, or a related field.
● Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in television or multimedia production.
● Proven ability to produce high-quality video content from concept to completion.
● Strong storytelling and writing skills.
● Experience with camera operation, sound recording and lighting.
● Understanding of technical video elements such as frame rates, aspect ratios, project
and export settings.
● Proficiency in video editing software.
● Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
● Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
● A passion and a commitment to public media.
● Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
● Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
● Knowledge of digital media platforms and social media best practices.
● Familiarity with the northern Minnesota region and its communities.
Work hours are mainly weekdays with some evenings and weekends. Salary range is $35,000
to $42,000 annually. We have generous benefits with PTO, sick leave, paid holidays, company
paid life insurance, short and long term disability insurance and an additional 21% of salary for
flex benefits towards health, retirement, dependent care and flex plan options.
