As a credentialed member of the medical staff, the Advanced Practitioner Registered Nurse works within the scope of an approved practice protocol under the general supervision of a physician who practices at Lakeland Regional Health and with designated administrative oversight.

- Standard Work: APRN - Hospitalist (Hospital at Home)
- Functions include managing the direct patient care of selected patient populations, utilizing the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation of assigned patients.
- Conduct initial assessments, performs procedures as privileged, prepares patients for discharge, complete History and Physical examinations, and Discharge Summaries.
- Assure timely updates of patient and family care plans.

- The advanced knowledge and skills required for this role include clinical expertise in a focus area, evidence-based practice, collaboration, consultation, education, mentoring, and change leadership.
- Functioning in this advanced practice role, the individual is accountable for collaborating with members of the health care team to design, implement, and measure safe, cost-effective, evidence-based care strategies while maintaining current professional knowledge and competencies and contributing to the advancement of the practice of nursing at the unit/system, local, state, and/or national level.
