Location: 210 South Florida Avenue Lakeland, FLPay Rate: Min $51,750.40 Mid $59,529.60
Supervises the day-to-day operations and activities of the Patient Access and other personnel engaged in admitting/registering general inpatient, outpatient (ambulatory surgery, observation, diagnostic therapeutic outpatient, therapeutic outpatient), obstetric, infant, neonatal, and other registrations not mentioned here, to various hospital units and clinics. The Patient Access Supervisor professionally collaborates with peers to assure that the work of the team and the department is completed in a pristine manner assuring timeliness and accuracy of registration information to support the budgeted goals of the organization and improve the patient experience.

- Coaches employees and focuses on ongoing staff development.
- Demonstrates advance knowledge of registration, scheduling, authorization, financial counselor, and navigator roles. Supervisor must be able to train others on all current operating systems pertinent to workflows.
- Timely Review of hospital-based denials and find creative ways to reduce denials after review.
- Maintain knowledge of all hospital-based clinics including qualifications for financial assistance programs offered by LRH.
- Utilize payer websites regularly to optimally perform duties assigned, and reporting any accessibility issues and negative payer trends to leadership/managed care immediately.
- Helps to ensure our staff and team leads have the tools and resources needed to perform their job duties.
- Responsible for maintaining individual knowledge, skills, and performance in accordance with LRH and departmental policies and procedures.
- Assists in bi-weekly timekeeping and maintains work area coverage based on staff time off.
- Provide leadership and guidance to staff as questions and issues arise, be willing to embrace change as it occurs, take immediate action as needed, and perform other related duties as assigned to achieve operational best outcomes for our departments.
- Ensure hospital-based clinics meet department and organization financial goals in regards to current services and prior balance collections.

Essential:
- High School or Equivalent
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
High School Diploma
3 to 5 years of patient access/patient accounting experience with progressing increasing responsibility
Knowledge of medical insurance (Medicare, HMO's, PPO's, Commercial), hospital billing, coding (ICD-10) and collection process.
One year of healthcare experience in a clinical environment
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
Knowledge of authorizations process and surgery scheduling procedures.
Strong working knowledge of the function and use of electronic health records.
Experience in Community Case Management
Bilingual (English/Spanish)
