Responsible for the movement of patients and materials throughout the hospital. Transporters assist and lift patients hands-on to properly position on wheelchairs/stretchers, deliver patients to the intended destinations, move patient care equipment as necessary to complete transport assignments and support the goals of the department. Assist in training new employees in the proper techniques and procedures of Transporter duties as assigned by the Supervisor. Transporters maintain high standards in quality/quantity of work performed and adhere to all regulatory, hospital and departmental policies and procedures. May experience traumatic situations including deceased patients, psychiatric and/or dismembered patients.

- Excellent skills in customer service, and communication. Successful completion of the cardiac monitoring exam for CTS within 90 days of hire.
