As a collaborative member of the Department of Pastoral Services, the PRN chaplain provides and enables pastoral care to patients, families, visitors, and team members during on call shifts and during the day, Monday – Friday.

- Standard Work Duties: Chaplain (PRN)
- Provides competent, timely spiritual care to patients, families and team members during on call shifts and during the day, Monday – Friday as scheduled based on the needs of the department
- Collaborates effectively with other members of the pastoral services staff, CPE residents and interns, and inter-disciplinary team in the coordination and provision of care.
- Documents the provision of care in the appropriate electronic format.
- Participates in the hospital emergency management based on the needs of the department.
- Demonstrates commitment to continuous learning and improvement of practice by participating in continuing education opportunities.
- Actively participates in accomplishing department goals and objectives
- Complies with all applicable policies and procedures.

Essential:
- Current knowledge of pastoral care theory and practice, including sensitivity to diverse cultures and faith groups represented in patient and staff populations. Successful completion of hospital specific mandatory requirements and competencies. Demonstration of effective problem-solving, decision making, interpersonal and teamwork skills. Demonstration of effective verbal communication.

- Master Degree

- Master Degree in appropriate field (minimum 72 credit hours).
- Minimum of one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education accredited by the Association of Clinical Pastoral Education
Other information:
Experience Essential: Service as a chaplain in a healthcare setting, hospital preferred
Experience Preferred: Minimum of two years as a chaplain in a healthcare setting, hospital preferred.
