Summary:
The Carol Jenkins Barnett Pavilion for Women & Children Maternity Care Navigator will play a pivotal role is crafting personalized attention for families who are in their birth journey. Ensuring birthing persons and families have information and access to education, special events, answering questions, providing tours, monitoring maternal and fetal health, providing emotional support and comfort and ensuring a personalized experience of the child birth journey is attained at LRH. The RN in collaboration with leadership will develop programs and events for families in the community. They will be a liaison and work collaboratively between patients, OB practices, providers, and administration. This role is more than a job; it’s a commitment to our community to elevate the standards of the birthing process and create a unique service that families will remember for years to come. Provides information about hospital services, amenities and available resources; including those outside of the Women’s service line (i.e. pediatrics, etc.). Handles patient inquiries and resolves any issues prior to admission for delivery. Directs patients to resources in the medical center or community and follows-up on issues. Participates in the collection and monitoring of data for quality improvement of patient care, and compliance as necessary. Provides support for departments that work within the Women’s service line related to best practice for patients. Performs such other duties as reasonably requested by or otherwise necessary to properly assist the operations of the Women’s Service Line (Ambulatory and Inpatient). Will conduct one-on-one appointments with families to customize their birth experience. Follow-up post-delivery for continued support and assessment to see if birthing persons or families need resources at LRH (i.e. Breastfeeding, access to care, pediatrician, community needs).

- Coordinates unique services and birth experiences for families. Greets and assists birthing persons and families in aspects of their journey by handling all requests prior to and during birth (i.e. Registration for tours, classes, concierge items, etc.)
- Develops personalized birth plan for families and communicates this to the delivery team.
- Provides information on LRH amenities.
- Coordinates the development of community programs and education for birthing persons and families. Ensures all logistics relating to the community programs are completed; Including but not limited to scheduling, coordinating instructors; setting up events on internet platforms; and any follow-up related to events either with participants or leadership.
- Collaborates with other departments to ensure amazing patient experience.
- Handles any complaints or issues with tact and diplomacy. Handles confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.

Certification Preferred:
