If yes, Lakemary is looking for a Foodservice Assistant Coordinator. In this role you will support and advise coworkers in preparing meals for students and staff. This role functions under general supervision of a Registered Dietitian.
Food Service Assistant responsibilities:
- Nutrition/ Food & Health:
- Meet the nutritional, individual, cultural, and religious food preferences of learners.
- Follows guidelines set by National School Breakfast and Lunch program.
- Ensure that food temperatures meet health and safety guidelines
- Keep work environment sanitary
- Prepares and cooks food and baking using the standardized recipes and safe food handling practices, utilizes production records.
- Supplies and equipment:
- Orders supplies and food products for the food service department, writes reports and keeps records/ inventories of food acquisition, production, storage, and inspections.
- Operates kitchen equipment such as dishwasher, variety of ovens, stove, steamer, and blender. Cares for equipment, report any concerns.
- Safety and inspections:
- Give your best efforts to make the department free from accidents and occupational health problems
- Immediately report safety issues and follow-up ensure corrective action is completed
- Maintain sanitary food handling and storage methods.
- Inspects food, storage, and work area to maintain standards of health and safety in all phases of food production.
- Clean and sanitize work
- Co-worker relationships:

- Support and advise co-workers
- Participates and cooperates as a team player.
- Resolves problems effectively with co-workers
- Documentation:
- Maintain appropriate records for the department
- Maintain records of people supported

- Adapts quickly, willing to adopt new roles useful for the department.
- Takes ownership of problems until resolved or asks for assistance.
An Ideal candidate for this position has:
Knowledge of:
- Food quality standards, health and sanitation procedures
- Food preparation
- Operation and care of equipment
- Materials, methods, and equipment used in preparing and serving food on a large scale
- Principles of inventory control
Ability to:
- Lift and carry heavy objects
- Understand, learn and follow instructions and procedures, both orally and in writing.
- Strives to increase skills and knowledge
- Share information and ideas with co-workers
Anticipated hours: Day hours 8am-4:30 pm Monday through Friday
