$5,000 STIPEND $2,500 paid out in November and $2,500 paid out in May!
Lakemary is hiring a Special Education Teacher for our School Program.
Position Goal: Special Education Teachers are responsible for the planning, implementing, and teaching students with disabilities. Classroom teachers will work closely with students, staff, teachers, administration, parents, and all other stakeholders within the IEP process.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university
- Hold of or be eligible to hold a current Kansas teaching license.
- Have or willingness to get a master’s degree in special education.
- Pass criminal background check.
- Demonstrate ability to implement best practice, motivate others and help students, set, and achieve high performance levels.
Reports to: Building Principal
General Responsibilities:
- Willingness to provide day-to-day instruction /support to students with special needs.
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal relationships.
- React to change productively and handle other tasks assigned.
- Set high expectations for student achievement and behavior.
- Keep information and records confidential.
- Ensure all services comply with local, state, and federal policies and regulations.
- Actively support and promote the school’s philosophy, mission, and goals.
- Follow all district health and safety policies.
- Plan and implement instruction to address individual education program (IEP) goals and objectives of students with disabilities.
- Collaborate and consult with staff, building level teams, parents and staff members related to children with disabilities.
Terms:
- Hours: 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM
- Contract days: 217, per work agreement with Paola USD 368 and BOE
- Start date: 2023-2024 school year.
